Pearl of Islands Foundation invited Mt Albert Methodist church representatives for a table discussion at its Newmarket office on 30th March.

As a branch of interfaith and intercultural dialogue, this table discussion brought attendees to gain a further understanding of their organization, and to share ideas and thoughts on common concerns. Churhgoers and PIF representatives confirmed the importance of organizations, such as PIF, in serving the community, reaching out the people, improving mutual understanding, and embracing other cultures.

Attendees then discussed the necessity of passing knowledge on religions to increase understanding of faiths, to lessen prejudice, and to promote respect and support through education, communication, and integration, particularly in New Zealand where various faiths and cultures coexist.
